1. I am used to taking care of things on my own. Does seeing a psychologist make me seem weak?

We all need help with various things at some point on our life's journey. Having the courage to seek help is a sign of strength, not weakness. It shows you are recognizing that your heart is open to seeking new perspectives and change. Your desire to take the first step is another step closer to your desired goal! Wherever you are on your path, I am here to listen, understand, and support. Together, I will help you identify your strengths and navigate areas that require care, and discover ways to help you improve your life.

2. How do I know if psychotherapy is right for me?

Sometimes we do not realize our mental wellness is affected by the challenges in life until our loved ones tell us. We may feel like we are stuck in an unhelpful pattern despite trying different ways to get better. If you are experiencing chronic worry, anxiety, depression, fear, life changes, grief, or other mental health related issues, psychotherapy can help guide you towards positive change and healing, leading to personal growth. I offer a free 15 minute phone consultation and we can discuss more about your needs.

3. What can I expect in the first session?

Our first session is called an intake session. This session is used to help me learn and explore your background history and life experiences to better understand where you have been, how these experiences have affected you, where you are now, and the goals you want to achieve in our sessions together.

4. How long does psychotherapy take and how often do I come?

Each client has different needs and goals, and the length of time for psychotherapy is dependent on your desire for personal growth, commitment to change, and reasons that lead you to seeking help. The frequency in attending psychotherapy is typically once a week, 50 minutes per session. The duration of our therapeutic journey together varies.

5. How can I get the most out of psychotherapy?

Your willingness, commitment, and active participation in psychotherapy are crucial to help you to reach your goals! In addition, the work that you put in outside of our psychotherapy sessions is equally important as it will facilitate your personal development and growth.

6. Is psychotropic medication better than psychotherapy? Do you prescribe psychotropic medications?

Medication is helpful for many people; however, sometimes medication alone cannot solve all the issues for a client. Our work in psychotherapy is to explore and identify the root of the problems and related symptoms, how these problems and symptoms are affecting you, and give you tools that you can use to help you reach your goals.

I do not prescribe psychotropic medication but if I believe medication will benefit you in conjunction with psychotherapy, I will recommend you to consult with a psychiatrist.

7. Do you offer online psychotherapy?

Aside from seeing clients in-person in my office, I do provide virtual psychotherapy for clients who live in Florida. I do not provide virtual psychotherapy for clients who live in other states at this time.

8. Do you accept insurance?

I am currently in the process of becoming an in-network provide with several major insurance companies. At this time, I operate as a private-pay practitioner. I can provide a superbill, a detailed invoice, for you to seek reimbursement from your insurance company. Here is the link that details the psychotherapy fees on the Services page.

9. Your website states that you provide consultation and training services. Based on your professional background and experiences, I think you may be able to help my organization. Can we discuss on how you can help?

Some of my clients had the same question and I believe connecting with each other is a great place to start! In my experience, my skillset is often transferrable across different settings. A conversation with the clients will help me assess what they are looking for and how I can be of help.

I would love to hear from you so please call or email me to schedule a time to discuss further!

10. What is your fee for your consultation and training services?

My consultation and training services are customized to align with each client's unique requirements, with investment levels determined by the scope of the project. Let's discuss on how I can help! Here is the link to the Contact page to get started!
